Description
An archaeological watching brief was conducted from August 2015 to June 2016 by AOC Archaeology prior to development, after a walkover survey and desk-based assessment had been conducted on the development area (NJ44SE0088). The watching brief recorded six sites: a pit cluster (MAB52238), a Medieval pit (MAB52239), a Prehistoric fire pit (MAB52240), a turf and stone bank (MAB10759), a possible cup-marked stone (MAB46582), and a crop-mark (MAB63771). Samples were collected for environmental analysis and radiocarbon dating, including from the fire pits.
