A walkover survey was conducted in 2008 and a desk-based assessment in 2014, both by AOC Archaeology, prior to the erection of a wind farm.

Full Description
A walkover survey was conducted in 2008 and a desk-based assessment in 2014, both by AOC Archaeology, prior to the erection of a wind farm. No prehistoric sites were recorded within the development area, however various known prehistoric sites were noted in close proximity. The post-medieval Brownhill Farmhouse (NJ44SE0089) was also recorded from within the development area, and Blackhill (NJ44SE0047) just outside the area was also recorded. A watching brief was conducted from August 2015 to June 2016 by AOC Archaeology, recording six sites: a pit cluster (NJ44SE0090), medieval pit (NJ44SE0091), prehistoric fire pit (NJ44SE0092), a turf and stone bank (NJ44SE0093), possible cup-marked stone (NJ44SE0094) and a crop-mark (NJ44SE0095).
