Summary
A number of artefacts, including a possible medieval seal, coins and other metallic objects, were found by two illegal metal-detectorists in 1992. This triggered a trial trenching evaluation to take place in January 1993.

Full Description
No archaeological features were encountered, but artefacts were recovered from the topsoil. These artefacts included clay pipe fragments, pottery and glass sherds and iron nails. The assemblage is predominantly 19th Century in date. The absence of any identifiable features in the field suggests that the finds have been coming from a burgh midden that has been spread as fertiliser across the field.
