Full Description
Alleged Roman camp. There is said to have been a 'Roman Station' of some 10 acres in extent on the west bank of the 'Rivulet Cullen, and which enclosed the village of Deskford, with a stretch of about 450 yards of an old paved road leading directly up to it from the southeast. Crawford (1949) noted that 'all this is very dubious' but there were Roman coins (NJ56SW0003) found here. No further information found by OS site visit 1961.
