Full Description
Site of the old town of Fochabers which was removed around 1800 when it was removed by the Fourth Duke of Gordon and the new town (NJ35NW0048) was created. It is shown on a map of 1773. The market cross (NJ35NW0002) still stands and the Apple House in the Gordon Castle walled garden (NJ35NW0143) is said to be the only remaining building from the original town.
