Full Description

Standing stone. In the early 19th century, the stone was said to commemorate the death of King Duncan II, murdered by the Earl or Thane of the Mearns. 'Duncan's shade' or 'field' lies nearby. The stone is 2.05 m high. Oblique aerial photography (2001) shows cropmarks around the which may be the west arc of a curvilinear enclosure measuring about 25m in diameter.
