Full Description

Walled garden, built in the early-19th Century, probably by John Baxter. The garden has 18th Century gates, probably those formerly on the west axis of Haddo House (MAB22622). A 20th Century house, the House of Formartine (MAB22708), was added within the north of the garden. The garden walls are rubble-built, and the 18th Century gates have channelled piers with panelled pilasters and urns, and good contemporary wrought iron work. The garden also features a Victorian half column sundial of Peterhead granite with a good, engraved metal dial with a coat of arms. There is an adjacent 19th Century gardener's cottage to the south (MAB22656). The garden is set within the Haddo House designed landscape (MAB22644).
