Full Description
Remains of a recumbent stone circle. Before 1850 there were 12 stones with the recumbent, its two flankers and a fourth slab arranged to form two sides of a parallelogram, whose other two sides has traditionally been dry stone walls. This arrangement may have been caused by the District Head Courts held in Medieval times. The Bishop of Aberdeen was said to have held court here in 1349. All that remained in 1902 were the recumbent, two broken and displaced flankers and six other blocks, only one of which was in situ.
