Full Description
Drumel Stone, a long narrow stone of whinstone, which originally stood at NJ5167 3061. When it was dug up in 1823 and moved 6m from original position an urn containing ashes was found and re-buried. Also found were fragments of tartan, too decomposed to identify and lift, and copper and silver coins of Mary Queen of Scots. The stone was removed again in 1951 and now lies recumbent at NJ5184 3048.
