Full Description

Two standing stones, one a Pictish symbol stone, standing against the pedestal of the Richmond's statue (NJ53NW0069). They are the remains of a stone circle of which six stones survived until the statue was erected, when all but three of the stones were removed. Two of the remaining stones have been placed against the pedestal, the third used to stand 'close to a house flanking the east side of the square'. One of the stones bears the Pictish symbols of a horse-shoe and the possible traces of a double disc. Not in original position.
