Description

Excavation was carried out by CFA in July-August 2019 and recorded an extensive spread of features, many of them pits. These are considered likely to be of prehistoric date although their function is unclear. Several groups of features formed complexes of intercutting features with some evidence for burning. One four-poster structure was identified. A relatively small number of finds were recovered, including animal and burnt bone, one piece of daub, one sherd of prehistoric pottery, two lithics and a number of possibly worked stones. One pit yielded over 100 charcoal fragments.
