Full Description
Farmstead still in use with a limekiln at NJ 4035 1118. It is depicted on the OS 1st edition map as a farmhouse with attached garden enclosure, and L-shaped range with enclosed court to the W, and horse-engine on the S wall of the S wing. The range has been slightly modified by the time of the 2nd edition map, including removal of the horse-engine and the enclosing wall of the court. The kiln, located on the steep slope to the south of the farmstead was recorded in site visit as part of a survey of limekilns of upper Donside (2002-3). The kiln has collapsed and infilled to ground level with the outline of the bowl and some structure on the front face remaining. There is a spread of stones down the slope.
