Full Description

Remains of a souterrain discovered and excavated in 1894. No roofing stones were found. The inner end was paved for circa 2.74m, with flat undressed stones and ashes were found round it. Inside the souterrain were found bronze wire, a stone whorl, pottery sherds, querns and quantities of ash and charcoal. About 5m from the entrance is an area of paving circa 2.4m by 1.9m which probably represents the surviving traces of a building associated with the souterrain.
