Full Description
Remains of clearance cairns and drystone walls recorded by Mott Macdonald in 2022 during walkover survey ahead of electricity cabling works (NJ40SE0197). A clearance cairn at NJ4571301922 measures 3 m by 1 m and up to 0.4 m in height, made up of medium and large rounded field stones. Running south is a section of derelict drystone wall, circa 70 m long, probably that depicted on historic OS maps. A further east-west section of derelict wall is heavily degraded. Further small cairns were recorded at NJ4567201816 and NJ4540401849, and an overgrown concentration of stones at NJ4559101856 represents clearance for the area to the south.
