Full Description
Remains of a linear drystone wall recorded by Mott Macdonald in 2022 during walkover survey ahead of electricity cabling works (NJ40SE0197). The northern section is on the southwest side of the modern field boundary and has a deep ditch along the northeast side. Constructed of medium roughly faced stones, 5-5 course high, circa 1 m wide. To the south (from circa NJ 47944 03655) continuation of the wall south comprises a substantial drystone construction, of 2-3 courses of roughly squared stone, circa 1.2 m wide. A little further south the wall was more obscured with some stones visible and some sections only earth banks.
