An archaeological survey was undertaken by Murray Archaeological Service Ltd in June 2007 which recorded a rectangular building 5.5 m x 4.6 m, of concrete foundation and the croft 12.8 m x 5.3 m orientated northeast-southwest. The croft was built of rounded pebbles and angular field stones bonded with yellow clay with evidence of straw tempering. Part of the fireplace survived.
