Full Description
The RAF Dallachy Strike Wing war memorial stands facing west on the B9104 at Bogmoor, to the west of the Dallachy airfield (NJ36SE0051). It comprises a wall of cemented irregular stone blocks/boulders, its sides tapering in slightly to the inclined top. Set into the face of the wall are a number of polished stone plaques. They include five in a line at the top depicting RAF badges, one providing a history of the strike wing, and one recording the planting of the two rowan trees here in 1998 in memory of personnel of the Strike Wing lost during the conflict. The memorial remains in very good condition. Full transcription of memorial held in AAS Digital Archive.
