Full Description
A building and enclosure are depicted on the OS maps of 1846 and 1888. On the earlier edition it is called Sunnyknowe but on the later one it is Hillhead. No building remains are marked at this position on present maps, although there is an area of rough ground at this position, which could indicate that foundations still survive. A field survey was carried out in 2009 by CFA Archaeology prior to a proposed wind farm, which recorded that no upstanding features remains.
CFA ARCHAEOLOGY, 2009, PROPOSED WIND FARM AT TOBAY FARM, NEAR DUFFTOWN. CULTURAL HERITAGE ASSESSMENT, DBA and field survey (Bibliographic reference). SAB6873.
