Full Description

The remains of a small farmstead, depicted on historic OS maps. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as two buildings, one rectangular and one small square-plan, with an enclosure to the east. On the 2nd edition OS map the rectangular building has been extended. The larger of the two buildings is of three compartments and still stands to a height of 1.25 metres when visited by RCAHMS in 1990. A field survey was carried out in 2009 by CFA Archaeology prior to a proposed wind farm, which recorded the grassed over remains of a three-compartmented building 0.5 metres high, and what may be the remains of the enclosure and smaller building, both indicated by grassed over stone walls 0.3 metres high.
