Full Description
Remains of a small farmstead which is depicted on the OS 1st edition map comprising two buildings and a small enclosure. The 2nd edition also shows a horsemill on the west side of the longer range. When visited by RCAHMS in 1990 there were the remains of two buildings, an enclosure and a pond. The pond provided water for a wheel, which powered machinery in the northerly of the two buildings. A field survey was carried out in 2009 by CFA Archaeology prior to a proposed wind farm, which recorded two buildings (surviving to 1.2 metres high), the remains of the enclosure (of which only sides survive) and a wet boggy area that may relate to the pond.
