Full Description

Site of the mansion house of Buchromb, site of a possible manor, and remains of a walled garden. The house was built in the later 19th century, and appears on OS 2nd edition map but not on the 1st edition. The house was said to resemble a 'miniature Balmoral', but little now survives after its demolition in 1969. There are walled gardens to the northeast (which are also shown on the 1st and 2nd edition maps) and associated buildings around it. A modern house occupies part of the site. Photographic recording of the building remains west of the walled garden was carried out in August 2020 ahead of proposed development.
