Full Description
Concrete pillar or obelisk within the grounds of Auchlunkart House (NJ34NW0045) recorded during field survey by Clyde Archaeology in October 2023 ahead of overhead line reinforcement (NJ35SE0041). It stands 8m high, and has a decorated vase/urn at the top. It has a possible circular dished bowl at the base and, behind a modern metal door, disused water pipes and electricity cables are evident. Although hidden in woodland a cleared avenue exists on the northern side of the burn leading to Boharm House (NJ34NW0043) to which it may therefore possibly relate.
