Full Description

Farmstead, still in use. It is depicted on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as an L-shaped steading with rectangular buildings to the west and south with a mill dam and sluice to the west. The original buildings appear to survive, with some alterations, but neither the mill dam nor sluice are shown. Building survey was carried out by Stuart Farrell in 2014 in advance of development. This concluded that whilst there are documentary references to a farm from the 1780s, in its present form dates to the late 19th century with a mill building probably of earlier date. The farmhouse is rectangular in plan, of two storeys, built of rubble with squared quoins and slate roof. The former mill, south of the steading is rectangular, rubble built with square skewputts and square rubble quoins and a slate roof; there was no trace of a lade. The steading, of rubble with squared quoins.
