Full Description
Remains of a Roman Catholic chapel, possibly erected after the Reformation. The chapel and priest's house were burnt down after Culloden by the Duke of Northumberland. Both were then rebuilt in 1780, but fell into disuse after 1830. There were still grass covered foundations visible in 1914, but OS found no trace of a building in 1967. Remains of the chapel were reported in 1975 as being incorporated into a sheep pen, with the east, west and north walls apparently original. SCHR field check in 2012 found no trace of the chapel or priest's house.
Period Notes
Rebuilt 1780.
