Full Description
Remains of a disused lime kiln, which is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. Recorded in 2002 as part of a survey of limekilns in Upper Donside, which noted it as one of the best preserved in the area. It stands 4.5m high at the front, and measures 4.9m in diameter. The large draw hole (1.8m high and 1.6m wide with 5 supporting lintels) is flanked by a pair of wide and substantial buttresses. The bowl measures 3.4m in diameter.
