Full Description
Remains of a circular lime kiln set into a terrace of spoil on the southeast side of the Quillichan Burn, recorded by RCAHMS site visit 1997. The bowl has been reduced to a grass-grown hollow 5m in diameter. The wall of the facade stands up to 2m high on the northwest. The lintels originally covering the draw hole have been removed. At its mouth the drawhole measures 1.6m wide and at least 1.4m high. The spoil into which the kiln is set forms a level platform around the top of the kiln. There are two quarries on the slope above the kiln.
