Full Description

Remains of a Limekiln which is shown on both the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps, although by the 2nd edition map it is described as disused. When visited by the RCAHMS in 1998 it was recorded as circular, 5.6m diameter overall northwets-sutheast and 2.9m internally. The kiln-pot was choked with agricultural rubbish, but some of the visible facing-stones were observed as having vitrified surfaces. One of the innermost lintels on the south-west was all that remained of the draw-hole.
