Full Description
Farmstead still in use with the remains of an associated limekiln that is depicted on the 1st edition OS map. The 1st edition shows a rectangular building, long L-shaped range with attached garden enclosure to the west, on the northwest side of which is a third small building. There is a second garden enclosure between the range and limekiln to the east. The site was visited by the RCAHMS in 1998 who recorded that the farmstead buildings had been converted into two cottages. Site visit as part of survey of limekilns of Upper Donside 2002-3 noted that the bowl and drawhole of the lime kiln had largely collapsed with some of the rear face of the bowl and the front lower structure standing. A spread of stones with lintels covers the bank below the kiln. The kiln measures 6m in external diameter, the bowl 3.7m in diameter.
