Full Description
Site of a farmstead and limekiln. It is depicted on the OS 1st edition map which shows three buildings, one L-shaped, which are arranged to form a small court, with a garden enclosure attached to the west side of the L-shaped range. RCAHMS visited the site in 1997. Tomachon farmstead has been demolished and its site now lies within an area designated for forestry. Its limekiln (NJ 3445 1078) survives, however, some 50m to the northeast of the site of the farmstead, and is built into a low, north-facing rise. The remains of a draw-hole are visible on the north, and the interior, which is filled with uprooted trees, measures about 2m in diameter.
