Full Description
Designed landscape around Edinglassie House (NJ31SW0011), dating from the 17th - 19th century. Edinglassie Estate consists of kennels at NJ 3282 1227, a cottage (NJ31SW0171), a walled garden (NJ31SW0167), a former stables and garage block (NJ31SW0169) and a lodge with gates (NJ31SW0173). The OS 1st edition shows the house to the east of the walled garden, three buildings immediately east and northeast, a group of three buildings further east - one of them L-plan, and to the north of these an L-plan and rectangular structure. By the time of the 2nd edition map the house had been modified as had the adjacent buildings. To the east the L-plan building had been joined to a rectangular one forming a U-shaped structure open to the north, the rectangular building to the east and L-plan building to the north both remaining. These buildings remain in use. The kennels do not appear on either the 1st or 2nd edition maps.
