Full Description

Remains of a lime-kiln, depicted on the OS 2nd edition map but which does not appear on the 1st edition. It was recorded as part of the survey of limekilns of Upper Donside (2002-3) It is a large kiln, 6.2m in diameter and over 3m high to the front, but the structure is in an unstable condition, The draw hole, 2m wide, is partially buried under collapsed stonework, with its lower structure well preserved.
