Full Description
Remains of a circular limekiln, depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. The main body of the kiln lies within forest plantation. It measures circa 6.5 m in external diameter with a bowl diameter of 3 m. The outline of the bowl remains intact, buried under pine needles and infilled with collapsed stonework. The draw hole is also intact with four lintels in place. Much of the stonework of the front face has fallen on the steep slope below.
