Full Description

Two limekilns depicted on the OS 1st edition map on either side of the road. Only the western on (annotated as 'Old Limekin') appears on the 2nd edition map. A survey of limekilns of Upper Donside in 2002 recorded the remains of the west kiln in pine wood. The stonework had been removed but there was a depression in a low north facing bank. No trace of the east kiln was found.
