Full Description

The farmstead of Easter Buchat shows a collection of thirteen small buildings on the OS 1st edition map with a mill pond to the north. By the time of the 2nd edition the farmstead has become U-shaped with open court to the southeast. There is now a second mill pond and a limekiln on the south side. The farmstead still in use but a number of the buildings have now gone and there are several new buildings. Site visit in 2002 as part of a survey of limekilns of Upper Donside noted the lower structure of the kiln surviving, buried under a pile of stones. A photographic survey was carried out in 2012 prior to the proposed conversion of the steading.
