Full Description

Old lime kiln. It is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps, although appears to have been disused by the time of the 2nd edition on which it is annotated as a 'old limekiln'. Recorded during a survey of limekllns in Donside in 2002. The front has partially collapsed, although the rear wall is partly intact. Three lintels remain in place on the draw hole. The bowl, which is 3m in diameter, shows signs of vitrification.
