Full Description
Remains of a small farmstead, houses and enclosures. The OS 1st edition map shows four buildings and three enclosures. One of these buildings was later removed and replaced an L-shaped range shown on the OS 2nd edition map. An RCAHMS visit to the site in 1997 recorded that the remains of four buildings could still be seen, including the L-shaped range that stood to wall-head height: a cottage and two other buildings were all ruinous. The OS 1st edition map also shows a limekiln to the west although this had been removed by the end of the 19th century and it is not depicted on the 2nd edition of the map. Nothing is now visible of the kiln. A drystone-walled sheepfold is situated about 170m south of the farmstead, part of which is depicted roofed on the 1st edition map, but unroofed on the 2nd edition map.
