Full Description
Woollen mill, founded by in 1797 by Alexander Johnston. The oldest part is 2 storey and attic, 2 by 9 bay front block (category B-listed). The central gable surmounted by bellcote. Main range is 2 storeys high, harled, with neat water tower. two storey boiler shop has roof track, cast iron lintel and circular section brick chimney. There is a five bay block of weaving sheds with round headed windows. The adjacent foundry (NJ26SW0044) was added later to the North.
