Full Description

Octagonal dovecot constructed in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed rubble, with tooled ashlar dressings and a Ballachulish slate pyramidal roof with lead ribs. There is an entrance in the South face of the dovecot, and a band course, an eaves course and a deep moulded rat course below the six flight holes, which are found on the South face and the two flanking faces only. There are 174 stone nesting boxes in the upper chamber only, with the upper half used as pigeon accommodation and the floor area probably intended as a hen house.
