Full Description
A large natural hill. Despite the name it is an unlikely situation for a castle or fort. Christiansen (1897) noted that it was 'represented as a strongly marked artificial mound on the OM. I found it, however, to be quite inconspicuous and entirely without remains of buildings or fortification'.
CHRISTISON, D, 1900, THE FORT, ‘CAMPS’ AND OTHER FIELDWORKS OF PERTH, FORFAR AND KINCARDINE, 108 (Bibliographic reference). SAB227.
