Full Description
Alleged earthworks, noted in the New Statistical Account 1845, and depicted on the OS 1st edition map as a 'supposed encampment'. OS site visit 1972 concluded that both so-called ramparts are natural features and do not form part of an antiquity. A similar bank, probably a kame, occurs amongst trees at NO6657 9638.
