Full Description
Natural knoll with traditional associations. 'Grahame's Knowe' and 'King's Well' are mentioned in the New Statistical Account as part of the route of Macbeth northwards from Dunsinane Hill. The OS recorded the tradition of a man called Grahame who was killed here in a fight with Macbeth. The knoll is marked on the OS maps as 'Grahame's Knowe' from the (circa 1846) 1st edition OS map onwards.
