Summary

Remains of a chalk flint deposit, the major source of flint in Scotland, occurs in this area mainly above the 90 m contour on the ridge of high ground which runs westwards for circa 10 miles from the coast between Invernettie (NK 12 44) and Stirling Hill (NK 12 41).

Full Description

Remains of a chalk flint deposit, the major source of flint in Scotland, occurs in this area mainly above the 90 m contour on the ridge of high ground which runs westwards for circa 10 miles from the coast between Invernettie (NK 12 44) and Stirling Hill (NK 12 41). The flint, yellow in colour, occurs in the form of gravel, pebbles, nodules and boulders.
