Full Description

Circular dovecot from the late-17th or early-18th century, and restored in 1977. It is a circular rubble dovecot with tooled rubble dressings. The entrance is in the North face, and there are flight holes at the South above a single rat course, which serves as an alighting ledge. It has a conical graded local stone slate roof, and a 1977 conical metal cap closes the circular apex flight-hole. Inside, it is lined from floor to wallhead with roughly dressed stone nesting boxes. It is associated with Pitgaveny House (NJ26NW0023).
