Full Description
Cropmarks of a ditch-defined cursus recorded since 1976 by the RCAHMS and CUCAP (date of first images not held at NMRS) during aerial reconnaissance. Running from NO 661 571 to NO 667 568 are a number of linear crop marks. They form large enclosures in the area between Powis and Old Montrose. At least three phases may be identified. A watching brief was carried out by Alder Archaeology in November 2019 during groundworks for a new electricity pole at NO 66681 57063, on the northeastern edge of the Scheduled area. No archaeological features or artefacts were observed.
