Full Description

Farmstead, still in use. It is depicted on the OS 1st edition map which shows a group of rectangular buildings. To the north is a pond and sluice. By the time of the 2nd edition 188 map most of the original buildings had been replaced. The farmstead now comprised a U-shaped steading, open to the southwest, with a rectangular building to the west and an L-plan farmhouse to the southwest. The rectangular building has since been removed but the others remain in use. To the north the 2nd edition shows a mill dam, old mill dam.. Southeast of the farm is a rectangular cottage, also still in use, which does not appear on the 1st edition map. Walkover survey carried out in May 2022 ahead of a proposed 132kV overhead line (NJ25SE0078) recorded a hollow possibly relating to the mill dam and measuring 25 m by 12 m and up to 3 m deep.
