Full Description

Cropmarks of a Roman temporary camp recorded by CUCAP in 1974. It has been associated with the campaigns of the emperor Septimius Severus (circa AD 208-11), is situated on sloping ground some 300 m south of Eassie farmhouse. It measures about 635 m from northwest-southeast and the position of the northwest gate, the only one to be identified so far, suggests that the cross-dimension was not less than 400 m, the area enclosed thus being about 25 hectares.
