Full Description

A dark mark visible as a sub-square solid cropmark surrounded by a roughly square ditch, found while checking aerial photograph for forestry in 1988. It was originally considered to be a possible homestead moat. On reviewing the photograph in 2002 this feature would appear to be more curvilinear than rectilinear and perhaps more consistent with an earlier site. This would appear to be backed up by the finding of flints and several sherds of pottery, including a large sherd, of prehistoric date (Bill Lindsay 2002)
