Full Description
Jervise records in 1879 that 'stone cists, barrows and other primitive remains have been discovered hereabouts'. No further information is available on these finds. On a vertical aerial photograph taken in 1988 are three or four dark solid circular crop marks that could indicate the site of barrows. Given the close proximity to the site of the 5th century chapel of St Carnoc (NJ64NE0031) these could indicate the site of burials from the Pictish period.
