Full Description

The old road leading from Thomshill, and further north, to Knockando in the south, is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd edition maps. Part is still in use as a public road to Bridge of Shougle. From there it runs south and slowly reverts to a track. Field survey in 2018 ahead of a proposed wind farm identified the track between NJ2105053425 and NJ1993047046. The northern section runs through commercial forestry and forms part of an active forest track. Further south the track becomes a disused and overgrown path where it runs through forestry and a grass covered track circa 3-4 m wide where it crosses pen moorland south of the forest.
