Full Description

An area of crop marks are visible in a field of cereal crop on a vertical aerial photograph taken in 1976. In the northern corner of the field is a possible souterrain and pits showing in reversal, as light areas in the darker crop. Not far to the southeast of this is there is at least one solid circular crop mark, possibly indicating a hut stance, and possible others to the south. There are a number of square enclosures that could possibly represent square barrows, though not definitive, possibly relating to a Pictish barrow cemetery. Further south there are a number of rectilinear enclosures showing as thin traces, as well as smaller rectilinear features showing as wider dark traces. The area is crossed by several thin curvilinear traces which probably represent trackways. Amongst the crop marks are also a number of geomorphological features showing.
